Summary Of “Your Guide To The Keto Diet” Video

Today I’m going to talk about a diet that will revolutionize how you look at food, your body, and yourself.

It’s called the Keto diet. You have already heard about Keto since it’s currently a hot topic in today’s wellness communities.

The Keto diet isn’t some new trend. It’s been around for almost a century. And is relied on to achieve the weight loss goals of hundreds of thousands of people like you and me.

This is the place to start if you’re curious to learn what keto is all about.

The Keto lifestyle is one full of larger amounts of fat, moderate amounts of protein, and a very low number of carbs.

With Keto, you’re replacing the glucose from carbohydrates with the energy from fat, called ketones.

With the standard American diet, you’ve heard a lot about how bad saturated fats are for you. Yet the Keto diet you rely on healthy saturated fats such as those from oils and avocados for your primary fuel source.

Each carbohydrate, fat, and protein you consume is called a macronutrient (macros). With a Keto Diet, you’ll consume very few carb macros and many more fat macros. Now that macronutrients have been explained, just what do “ketoers” consume?

They still eat plenty of vegetables, loading up with leafy greens while limiting the number of cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.).

A “Ketoer” will also increase their intake of high-fat proteins and dairy products. Cutting out skim milk and other low-fat dairy products, grains, and especially sugars from their diet.

Sound challenging?

Keto-centric meals are actually quite tasty. Sooner than you think, you’ll soon find that you stop craving carbs. For example:

Keto Breakfast

Scrambled eggs, with sliced avocado, or a vegan hot cereal made from coconut flour, flaxseed oil, vanilla protein powder, with fresh berries on top.

Keto Lunch

Instead of a carb-loaded sandwich, have a salad topped with bacon bits and blue cheese dressing with a cup of soup.

Keto Dinner

Dinner meals offer the most variety. Instead of sitting down to a plate of pasta (high carbs), try a shrimp alfredo or lasagna made with spaghetti squash, ground beef, Italian sausage, covered wight a nice serving of cheese.

So how does a Keto diet work?

Will you lose weight by replacing low-fat foods with cheese smothered ground beef? Yes, if you stick with it, you absolutely will!

A common misconception is carbohydrates should be our first source of energy. That’s because carbs break down the easiest for our bodies to use as fuel. When you stop eating carbohydrates your body turns to a greater fuel source, fat.

In the absence of glucose, your liver turns fat into fatty acids and ketones. Meaning you are basically running on fat. You literally become a fat-burning machine. Rapidly burning your stored fat along the way.

There are other benefits to eating a ketogenic diet. Many studies have shown the Keto lifestyle is beneficial to people suffering from cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease.

If you want to speed up your weight loss and increase your health, I highly suggest trying this diet.
